I realize this thread is about apologizing to gunzz…which I am not. Hear me out, maybe I can offer some insults.

Some of you missed me, some of you celebrated my absence, and most of you didn’t realize or care. Officially, I was suspended 42 days for sharing a moderator’s private message, which is the TWW equivalent of getting 25 years for Jaywalking. In a vacuum, the punishment was as rational as a rash on fag’s asshole. But in the bigger picture of things, it was the culmination of nearly three years of hard work.

You see, shitting on gunzz is my business…and business is good. While not quite as successful as my other venture, shitonjaybee.com, I’ve spent a considerable amount of time trolling gunzz since I joined this site back in September of 2007. At first it was just an occasional thing, something to get a laugh out of. But recently, especially in the past six months or so, it became a nearly every day occurrence. I would post stalk him and find something to get on him about, be it another copy/paste from PackPride, a friendly jab at him in the job search thread, or calling out a pisspoor attempt at e-gaming. I became obsessed with him. I didn’t just want to shit on him anymore. I needed to.

Why gunzz? Because he’s an easy target. As a balding, unemployed curmudgeon a cunt hair shy of 40, it’s never hard to find a cheap joke at his expense. The fact that he’s a moderator is just a coincidence. If quagmire02 or JT3bucky were mods, they’d still be treated like shit. But gunzz is the only moderator who goes out of his way to instigate. qntmfred rules fairly, people like BobbyDigital and theDuke866 do a decent enough job without calling attention to themselves, and no one listens to NyM410 and Jeepin4x4, the Paul Blarts of TWW.

But gunzz is different. In the moderator hierarchy, he’s basically second is command, the evil henchman to qntmfred’s Dr. Claw. His short leash and his childlike habit of never admitting fault have led to a large army of detractors. He was appointed moderator well before my time. Numerous threads in the Feedback forum calling for his head lead me to wonder how he ascended to the throne in the first place. It begs the classic question: If things weren’t always done this way, would we do them this way now? In other words, had gunzz not been grandfathered in as moderator as a holdover from the previous regime, would he be crowned as a moderator in the current one? I think we all know the answer to that.

But he’s here to stay, and its time for me to finally accept that. Upon my reinstatement, I received a private message telling me that this was my final chance, and that any more malicious behavior toward gunzz would result in my permanent blacklisting. While I’d love to go out in a blaze of glory, I sadly realized that I need this place more than I thought I did. So it is with much humbleness and regret that I agreed to these terms.

So no more unnecessary shitting on gunzz. No more seeking out his posts just to deliver an insult, no more creating phony craigslist ads offering inappropriate personal services, and no more officially calling him out…unless he really deserves it.

Everything ends badly; otherwise, it wouldn’t end. I regret nothing. I’ve enjoyed every minute of our back-and-forths and each suspension has been well worth it. Nutting on gunzz’ face was the highlight of my TWW career. But that’s all in the past now. From now on, I will make a conscious effort to treat him with the respect he deserves.
