Man-Mur (Hillsboro St.)

Great Clips (Cameron Village)

N-Style (Mission Valley)

I think there is also another "Men's" Barber Shop in Cameron Village but I don't remember the name and I do remember that it is $texas for a hair cut.

i'm still going to famous hair or whatever it is near crossroads for a $12 ($15 after tip) cut...i've been doing it for years and the two ladies there that i've had cut my hair do a great job, so i don't have any reason NOT to go back there

i bought a set of clippers from wally world for $20 about 10 years ago and cut my own hair for a long time...it was essentially just buzzing it, but using the included guide combs made certain parts longer, so it didn't look quite like a buzz

did pretty well, if i do say so myself...of course, i don't do that anymore

Man-Mur is not a good place for a haircut

I went in all shaggy once when I was coincidentally walking down H-boro (I lived in Asheville) and the fucking old dude crew-cutted me

Professional Barber Shop. It's over there by the ABC store. Ed cuts my hair when I'm keeping it short (like right now). $19. You need to call ahead and make an appointment, but you can almost always get one the day of. 919-834-6395

Fuck paying for a haircut. I do my own...with the dog clippers. Good enough for her, good enough for me.

^ Well, considering that I get a high and tight every time I get a hair cut, I like them.

Man-Mur is great. If you don't want whitewalls, tell em before they start cutting your hair. It's not hard.

Dude, dont go to no damn "Great Clips" for a hair cut!

Go to the "Styling Salon" at J.C. Penny either the one in Cary, or the one at South Point Mall in Durham. They are not cheap but its def. worth the price!

The Professional Barbershop in CV is where I went in Raleigh. Just don't get the asshole w/ the 1st chair.

I used another place sometimes, but it was expensive and hit or miss (I'm currently paying 25 before tip for mine if that tells you anything)

[Edited on June 29, 2010 at 1:58 PM. Reason : I knew people that went to Esquire, too.]

[Edited on June 29, 2010 at 2:02 PM. Reason : I also need a haircut, time to call for an appt. for my charlotte place]

When I had short hair I always went to Esquire. I've had three haircuts since the spring of '05...the first was at a great-clips type place where she hacked off nearly 6" and all I wanted was a trim. The second was at Blo where I spent $70 for an admittedly awesome style. The third by my gf who is a talented stylist and coincidentally began working at Blo sometime after I got my hair did there and before we met.

But anyway yeah when I had short hair I always went to Esquire.

@modlin- Sure they'll do what you want at Man-Mur. But pretty much every time I went there they messed something up. I went there once a month for ~2 years just because all the barbers are really nice and I like the atmosphere. But I finally just got sick of getting fucked up haircuts.

I keep going to Man Mur, even though I always end up with a Lloyd Christmas or a Forrest Gump.

the kid I chauffeur around goes to Barber Shop at the corner of Millbrook and 6 Forks. He got a good haircut from there.

I've encouraged hubs to go there from now on as he sometimes comes back all lopsided if he goes to Great Clips or any other place that operates on the idea of getting as many bodies in the chair as possible.

I'm usually happy with Esquire on Hboro St. Its not anything fancy though if that's what you're looking for. But I feel bad for them with all the construction so I try to go there sometimes when I'm in Raleigh.

I go to Ron @ Esquire on Hillsborough, or Ed @ Professional in Cameron Village. Not much pricier than the chain shops (15 at Esquire, 20-ish at Professional) but they take a lot more care and do a much better job.

[Edited on June 29, 2010 at 5:54 PM. Reason : I've also heard good things about Sam and Bill's on Oberlin next to PR. But pricier.]
