Where are some? I would appreciate your input. Google didn't help at all. I would appreciate it if you would list it as branch, type and location.

i.e. USMC, Vietnam War Memorial, Raleigh, NC.

If you can get more specific with the location I would appreciate it. A tiny url Google Maps link would be ideal.

Well, anything could help. I found a national cemetary near downtown and I found a vietnam veteran's memorial near the capitol building.

We've got one in Tarboro, two actually.

Raleigh better be able to do better than that.

I forgot that the bell tower was an armed forces memorial. Hmm. This might help.

I'm hosting a run on July 12th and I want to run past some armed forces memorials as the run progresses. There will also be beer stops involved.

Downtown Raleigh, take Hillsborough to Salisbury. There is a monument "TO OUR CONFEDERATE DEAD"

Surprisingly enough, there is also a Confederate memorial in downtown Durham.

at the State Capitol Building:

North Carolina Veteran's Monument - This monument honors the veterans of the state who served in World Wars I and II and the Korean War. The base features scenes and lists major battles from each of the wars, and atop a granite shaft stands Lady Liberty holding a palm frond to symbolize peace and victory. The flags of each of the armed services fly at the rear of the monument.

Vietnam Veteran's Memorial - Entitled "After the Firefight," this memorial honors the more than 206,000 men and women of the state who served in Vietnam. The monument depicts two soldiers carrying a wounded comrade to a nearby landing zone to await medical help. This monument is unique in that it is the first to be sculpted by a woman, and the first to depict an African American.

You could also go by Reynolds, they have plenty of memorials in there up on the walls and crap.

My dog tried to attack this statue.

True story.
