Douchebag customer bought an item off me for $450 with free shipping on June 16th.

Cost to ship via UPS was $180, with paypal and ebay fees, I made less than $250.

On the 20th he replied to say it was damaged. Same day I offered multiple choices for replacement, return, etc.

On the 22nd he said he would decide on the 25th. After several emails back and forth, on the 28th he said he wanted a replacement. I told him I would ship it out Greyhound Express at no additional charge, but he would need to pick it up at the station. He agreed.

On the 29th I shipped it. It arrived on the 30th.

Today I get an email that a case had been opened on me, and he wants a full refund.

I called greyhound to see if the package arrived damaged, and he hasn't even come to look at it or pick it up.

Fucking douche has cost me more than the $450 I got, and now he wants a refund?

Fuck ebay.

If this item was that fragile should you not have taken insurance. I did not know you can ship items via greyhound. This guy regardless sounds like a douche, fuck him.

this is why I dont use ebay, there are people who have been figuring out ways to manipulate and control their system for years.

Insurance is a scam. I had insurance, but filing a claim takes forever, and if the customer does not note the damage prior to signing for the package(which he claims someone else signed for it,) UPS will typically not reimburse the insurance. It is rare to win an insurance case.

what ~$270 item costs $180 to ship?

and why did you sell it on ebay instead of craigslist/locally?

you fail at ebay.

I had no idea people still used Ebay. Seems like the past few times I've bought shit off there it hasn't been as advertised.

I have had to file probably four or five insurance claims against FedEx and I never had any trouble getting a payout. I don't know UPS' policy, but FedEx automatically insures all shipments to $100. Anything over that and you have to pay extra, but it's a pretty nominal amount.

I bought something for $30 from Honk Kong a month ago and it hasn't arrived yet. I don't think i'll be using eBay to buy anything, no matter how cheap, again.

items over a certain length, no matter the weight, have a "large size package" fee of $50. Due to the size being 30x30x42, even though it was not heavy, it goes under dimensional weight charges, which are ridiculous. I had no idea when putting it on ebay, that shipping would be nearly that high.

Maybe if you sold actual physical shit on ebay. Then you'd have a better time.

This. Had to be something freight or to freaking China, which I'm pretty sure Greyhound does not service.

I LOVE buying on ebay.
I have bought my wedding veil, guest book and other stuff for the wedding.

I have gotten so many jewerly deals on there.

Unfortunatly the sapphire ring I wanted was taken off (sure someone offered them $ to just buy it) I REALLY wanted that ring!!

I would have lied and said item was destroyed inadvertently, and sent apology along with a refund.

The re-listed with adequate shipping.
