NOT

Blizzard is making their forums post your real name as your user name now. Or will be soon.

Its got good and bad points. Then again a lot of forums are starting to do this in response to issues arising from 13 yr olds thinking they are god and can do anything online. Ill just wait and see though when Blizzard gets sued for a stalker like its said.7/6/2010 5:09:45 PM |

So what's to stop you from just lying about your name? 7/6/2010 7:28:37 PM |

Probably the fact that it's on your credit card info. 7/6/2010 8:15:34 PM |

^^Surely they don't require you to use the name attached to your credit card. What about all the kiddies that use their parents cards to play? Or a husband that uses a card in his wife's name? Or the fact that you can get a credit card with no name attached? 7/6/2010 8:42:52 PM |

UPDATE!!!
So less than 24 hrs since this has come down, a blizzard employee posted his real name to prove a point on the privacy. Bad idea.
His house, parents house, sig other's house, several phone numbers, emails, twitter, facebook, SSN, and other info has been posted.
Pretty sure hes gonna need to do a complete identity change and better sue Blizzard to pay for it all. 7/8/2010 4:37:43 PM |

yeah, probably would have been smart to wait until the jackasses posting his personal info had to do it with their real names as well
Are they going to make the forums where you have to be logged in to read? That would be my only real issue with this. 7/8/2010 5:03:57 PM |
