If I had cable still, it would probably be science/history/military channel. Depending on the time of day/day of the week, maybe speed channel or spike tv. This allows me to randomly pick up facts without context. 7/6/2010 11:35:58 PM |

I used to have CNN on most of the time (when I had cable) ...but I really agree with Quote : | "science/history/military" |
Also, an honorable mention goes to poker shows -- the quiet ones where you hear them stacking their chips...

^ I used to leave news14 Carolina on, but they never change the cheesy music... and it repeats every half-hour. After not watching that channel for years, it was on at a friends house with the same fucking music. I cannot stand that shit. 7/21/2010 3:35:53 PM |

If I'm folding origami or doing something at my computer desk but don't want to listen to music, I'll put on Daily Show, Colbert Report, or Hell's Kitchen in the background. Basically anything that can be followed easily through the audio without the visuals being too necessary. I just look up if Colbert is doing a The Word segment. 7/21/2010 4:12:23 PM |

I wouldn't say a ton, but I occasionally make random things. Not usually animals, but modular pieces like this.
Several months ago, I designed a piece for my office wall that is composed of nearly 300 pieces joined together, so it's taking a long time to fold. I just occasionally fold a few when I'm bored in the evening as an alternative to watching TV, reading or playing video games, and in the end I'll have some unique artwork to hang up in the office. 7/21/2010 4:20:52 PM |

I do this.
And every now and again, I think around 1 PM, this shitty public access sort of educational show will come on, featuring early-90s visuals and some grade school physics teacher named "Wizard Wellnitz".
It's great to ignore and hilarious when I accidentally pay attention.7/21/2010 5:00:17 PM |
