Chris Jericho is

"The Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rollah"
"The Man of 1,004 Holds"
"Role Model and Paragon of Virtue"
"The King of the Loopholes"

They were showing some WWE stuff over here a few nights ago on TV. Along with "World's Most Extreme Videos".

I was pleased that trashy American TV has worldwide appeal

wwe has calmed down the trash over the past two years or so

a lot of that has to do with linda mcmahon's senate campaign

but someone told me they missed the good old days of the '70s/'80s when wrestling wasn't so trashy

so i showed them the video of jimmy hart blaming jerry lawler's piledriver for andy kaufman's terminal cancer

the original version of this thread included

Jack "The All-American American" Swagger

and

Ric "Space Mountain" Flair

and, as much as i dislike his gimmick

John "The Doctor of Thugonomics" Cena

but i thought it'd be funnier just to use jericho nicknames

Jericho's schtick/feud with Dean Malinko and his whole "Man of 1001-1004 holds" was hilarious.

"The full nelson, the armbar, the walls of jericho, the armbar, the sharpshooter, the armbar, the figure four, and of course... the armbar."

my guess:

#1 ARM BAR

#3 ARM BAR
#4 THE SASKATCHEWAN SPINNING WRIST HOLD
#5 ARM BAR
#6 THE DOUBLE TWISTING FAMILY GREDUNZEL
#7 ARM BAR
#8 MMMMADVHSBAJAKAKAKJHS
#9 ARM BAR

real:

#1 ARM DRAG
#2 ARM BAR
#3 THE MOSS-COVERED THREE-HANDLED FAMILY GREDUNZEL
#4 ARM BAR

i always forget that as well

it's because he puts this weird emphasis on "BAR" that sounds much better if you put it on "DRAG"

also, somewhere in that clip i lost the one where he just mumbles

which i had at #8

it's also worth noting that this whole promo came just after he squashed marty jannetty

i miss the days of it being easy to suspend disbelief in pro wrestling and the fights actually looked like shoots and not completely staged

that era pretty much ended with the stone cold era, not do discredit steve austin but in that era it went from being about good story lines and great in-ring action to becoming shock and awe

you might like ring of honor

third in size behind WWE & TNA

but all about the wrestling and cutting vintage-style promos (jim cornette is their on-screen management)

http://rohwrestling.com/

the tyler black/davey richards match from their last ppv was supposedly a very stiff match

Vinyl bring the classics. I always like Deano Machino. And going back further, whenever To y Schiavone called the Yeti the "Yeh-teh" for no reason.

Bring back the Dungeon of Doom.

Chris Jericho is awesome.

I haven't watched wrestling in years, is Jericho still doing it? I know he's got that gameshow thing now.
