July 11 is the 50th anniversary of publication of the novel "To Kill a Mockingbird." The book's author, Harper Lee, has not given an interview in many years and rarely makes public appearances. Millions of Americans have read her book, probably during high school. Millions more are familiar with the story through the film version starring Gregory Peck.

kinda crazy

i also <3 atticus finch and wish some of my heroes existed outside of novels and movies

I just noticed the headline because I watched the movie for the first time in years a few nights ago on AMC.

i don't know why i never watched it! i will have to watch it asap.

i was hoping it would be on instant watch but it isn't (i just checked). maybe it is coming on tv sometime soon OR i will just put it on my netflix list and wait to get it the old fashioned way.

Gregory Peck made some pretty kick ass movies.

I'm man enough to say that Roman Holiday is included in that statement.
