Any time a shot on goal is blocked, the announcer shouts M-M-M-MULTI BALL BONUS, like a pinball machine, and then like 8 balls just pour onto the field from every side.

This idea operates on the general principle that pinball is more fun than soccer, therefore one must improve the other.


I'm up for any other absurdly stupid ideas... soccer is already a punchline in America, might as well make it entertaining by living up to the "complete joke" reputation.

1) Goal line technology.

2) A ref's aid on each end of the pitch whose sole purpose is observe any gameplay within the penalty box. They will make the calls on handballs, offsides, fouls within the box, etc. and verify questionable goals.

3) Instant red cards for diving. Red cards should be able to be awarded retroactively during half time or post-game.

4) Refs should be open to the possibility that they MIGHT be wrong on some calls. If upon further review a goal was not legal or should have been legal, add or take away the point as necessary. The ref doesn't even have to do it, there could just be a small group of people watching replays in a room from multiple angles. Just radio to the ref's headset at some point in the game and be like "hey man, we looked at it, you were wrong". I bet the ref's would have a lot more respect if they admitted they made a bad call then if they blatantly denied it.
