Try pushing it down on the cradle to see if that works - if so its a known issue with that model and you can contact Logitech and they will send you another one. 7/14/2010 6:38:10 PM |

If I did not already have a Harmony One, I would be bidding in this. Can not imagine what the seller got as an upgrade to this that he likes better. 7/15/2010 9:10:14 AM |

The Logitech Harmony 1100 is pretty awesome. There are other ones that are better, but not for the price (when it's on sale that is). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168801110207/15/2010 10:14:02 PM |

Basically the girlfriend doesn't want to learn to use it and I am cool using 30 remotes to do everything. AHHHHHHH.... OK, so I don't want to get rid of it but in relationships you choose your battles and this is one that I retreated on. 7/16/2010 8:44:54 AM |

Sounds like you need to dump your GF, because she must be mentally retarded. No one who uses a Harmony doesn't understand it after 2 seconds.7/17/2010 10:50:31 PM |

^^^^^The main downside of the 1100 is no tactile feedback. Without hard buttons you can't use it without looking at it and who the hell wants a remote that they have to look at every time they want to push a button? My 890 does everything I ask it to and then some - even in the dark without looking at it - and only needs one hand to operate unlike the 1100. Hopefully whoever got it doesn't have an ignorant selfish girlfriend. Don't a bitch know not to get between a man and his electronics? Tell her to go learn how to use the oven and make you some damn dinner. 7/21/2010 3:36:07 AM |

haha, funny stuff itt
during normal operation she was ok with it. sometimes you hit a button and it goes to a different piece of equipment that it is controlling and then you get lost on how to get back to "watch tv." If you are on your dvd player and the tv is on and the cable box is off, when you hit watch tv it turns the cable box on and then turns the tv off. so then you have to go to devices turn the tv on, then hit the watch tv button to get it back to operational while you cover the top of the remote to make sure it doesnt turn your shit back off.
just a lot of scenarios that make it not worth it for me at this juncture. 7/25/2010 5:56:20 PM |

^The Harmony remotes actually have a learning feature that can help to remedy that. Instead of choosing each individual device and toggling the power on/off if that happens, click the 'help' button on the top right. This will launch a guided assistant that will fix everything (ie it will turn on what needs to be turned on and turn off what needs to be turned off). After enough times the remote will 'learn' what is happening and automatically make the steps to correct it.
Also, if you're doing an activity (ie, watching tv) and want to control a specific device you can switch back to 'watch tv' mode by selecting watch tv again and it should return to that remote layout without turning on/off any devices.
To avoid this problem to begin with, however, you can always program the button layout for the 'watch tv' activity to include whatever buttons you need to control the other device. Sometimes the default layout for the buttons doesn't always include every button you want to use for 'watching tv'.
I would really recommend giving the remote another shot. I'm sure you (and your girlfriend) will eventually grow to love the damn thing. It really will make your lives a lot easier.
I'd be more than happy to help you set up your remote or rectify and further problems you might have, just shoot me a PM. Good luck! 7/26/2010 3:35:25 AM |

I appreciate the offer, but I have already sold it. I liked it, but honestly it wasn't worth the 280 or whatever I paid for it. Whenever I get really rich and have remote control blinds, lights, fans, and home theater I will give it another run. Until then...... I'm good. 7/26/2010 8:24:09 AM |
