Basically i told this girl she could move in to our extra br, but she wasn't willing to sign a lease and while she seemed super nice her situation is pretty sketchy, like she doesn't have a car, has a dui. Then the other guy who is moving into the master br decided yesterday that he wanted his buddy to move in because he got screwed out of his living situation. His buddy is actually reliable. She wanted to move in like today or tomorrow and theres not really anything i can do seeing as he has just as much right to tell her she can't live here as i do seeing as he actually pays rent and is on the lease.

I've never felt so shitty about anything in my life, if there was still like 3 or 4 weeks to go i wouldn't care but i went to her house yesterday and she had like all of her boxes packed and everything.

maybe talk to your current roommie

if he has an ounce of integrity, he'll at least see the problem, and then you two can talk about it

then if you have to break the news to this girl, you can at least do so in the knowledge that you did everything you could and were basically powerless

No lease, no problems. Shit happens. My landlord did this to some guy who was about to move into my room.

Guy wanted to move in ASAP, and was going to take over my lease for June and July. Talked it over with the landlord, everything was fine. A day or two later I send the landlord an email if the room was filled cause I had a buddy who wanted to move in for only July. He said to go ahead with that because the other guy was sketchy as fuck or something, and basically was looking for any reason not to let the dude move in. Ends up that my buddy moved in at the end of July.

You just feel shitty because it was a girl. What was the time scale on you telling her she could move in? Besides, figure that you just taught her another valuable lesson and that you're improving her in the long run

^Feeling awful...made a thread about it...but didn't fight it too much.

I'd give her between a high 6 and a low 8.

Higher than that, our boy AA would've gone to his buddy and been like "dude, check this girl out [facebook]" and this never would've happened.

^^well he said he was okay with it like 2 weeks ago. We were fine with paying the price for 3 of us but wanted a 4th to bring down the rent a bit since there was a bed room nobody was using.
