Student Conduct can screw with you more than just bringing you in and disciplining.

If they don't consider you a "serious" offender, they won't contact you...they'll just put a hold on your records. So when you go to register months later, out of the blue, the computer comes back all, "Hey, dude, you're in trouble with SC. Better make an appointment!"

And then you gotta make an appointment (for something you did months before) and see them before you can register...so you lose a couple weeks of registration and it's a pain in the behind, especially if you've put off registration til the last minute.


The SC/registration hold thing happened to me TWICE. First time, I actually called them in advance to make sure everything was cool, and they were like, "Yeah, it's straight." Months later, I went to register for the next semester's classes, and it was all, "EVERYTHING IS NOT COOL. YOU SUCK AND YOU CAN'T PICK CLASSES YET, DUMB ASS!"
