Will not miss you

Getting 12 mbit and 6 dvrs for 125 a month, like 95 of the same hd channels.

This has been an astraladvent decree

I got rid of my premium channels and switched to netflix.

I don't watch basic cable. The HD channels are awesome, however, I rarely utilize them. I'm thinking about dropping the cable package altogether and just keep them for the internet.

I hope you enjoy your new service, sir.

with 6 boxes (what i would need) at&t didn't come close to twc. the extra monthly charges for more boxes pushed it way above twc.

astraladvent, can you post dome details of what you are doing? thats about what i pay for twc and if its with uverse i'm curious what deal you got because my quote was about $150.

Its AT&T. The guy came by door to door and said they just got their fiber optic out this way. My roommate and i work at an A/V company and he ended up talking him into 6 dvrs for basically no extra charge. Also getting the first month for free and a $100 gift card if we decide not to switch back to TWC

Fuck TWC

u-verse isn't great when you have a bunch of boxes that might be used simultaneously because there's a cap on the number of channels that can be streamed into your house at any one time

^^ do you really have 6 DVRs? typical u-verse setup is one DVR that can be controlled/viewed from any other box in the house

They'll get you next year dude when they increase your rate and your promotional period is over.

They'll get you even more the year after that...

and the year after that.

It's how they do.

^ who at&t? where did you hear that nonsense from...or are you just assuming they operate the same way as TWC?

they don't really have promotional periods for their rates. they are what they are. thats like reason #98354 they're better than TWC.

and as far as rate increases go, they did raise the rate of tv packages a whole $3 on January 1st. on noes.

he doesn't have 6 DVRs.

He has 1 DVR, and 5 set top boxes which can all access content from the single DVR. in reality they function like a DVR, you can record/watch/delete shows on them, but there is only 1 DVR. only difference is you can't pause/rewind live TV when you're using a STB.

4 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 in the garage. Probably watch the one in the garage the most.

TWC only got away with jacking up prices every 30 minutes because they had a monopoly over the market and if you switched you'd be getting Dish or DirectTV and most people have some carnal fear of satellites (the same people who turn off all their electronics the second storm clouds come over head)

I always thought the contract was to keep promo pricing. I didn't think they locked you in to keep service.

yeah we still have timewarner for probably the next two months, but time warner seriously sucks. They're going to have to step up their game as U-verse spreads across the area
