primarily on sandwiches and salads but also in general. discuss.

i can't decide how i feel about them. i always add them to sandwiches but then 1/2 way through they get a little hairy for me and i pick them all off.

love? hate? do they even have a purpose?

and p.s. there was just an alfalfa sprouts recall recently

[Edited on August 2, 2010 at 11:48 PM. Reason : bean sprouts are also good in ramen]

they are like .50/lb at the international farmer's market. 1lb of sprouts is a hell of a lot of sprouts.

well, actually they are mung bean sprouts, not alfalfa sprouts. but cheap and tasty nonetheless.

you can add them to ramen after its cooked. its like a poorer man's pho.

I like them in all forms. You can throw them on a sandwich, throw them in a salad, throw them on meat, cook them, eat the raw; whatever.
They're a great supply of vitamins that you don't find in a lot of other plant life.
I like them no matter how they are prepared, but they're great at soaking up Teriyaki or Soy sauce.

just make sure you wash them things before eating them. they have a higher rate of transmitting bacteria compared to other veggies.

I sprout mung beans on a damp paper towel in my desk drawer. Very nutritious, but they smell like death.

I bought some yesterday for the first time in quite a while and was excited. I love them on sandwiches. I sometimes put them in salads but then I usually have the same reaction halfway through, like, "Why did I think this was a good idea?"

Bean sprouts are delicious.

i love them, not so much for the taste but the texture. it's a good crunchines to add to a salad or sandwich/wrap. and for some reason they go particularly well with guacamole.

if they put alfalfa sprouts on a KFC double down, i just might eat them.

but seriously, i don't like sprouts in general. it's not that they taste bad, i'm just not into the texture of them.

you know what sprouts are, right? they are plants... plants which have just grown out of the seed and are still tiny in size.

apologies if you know... but i have my doubts!

if you are asking about nutrition... they are highly nutritious, and in general more nutritious than fully grown plants.

duhhhh. isn't that why they are called SPROUTSSSSS??

and yea, i knew the nutrition. blah blah blahhhhhh.

i meant more like what they add to food. taste, texture, crunch, pleasure and sometimes a pube-like presence.

i think i like them on salads more than sandwiches. but i also like other kinds of sprouts more than alfalfa. less pube-ish
