^yea - I think RCA is limited to less than 10'. Beyond that you need a lower gauge cable. However you can get BNC converters and run it over that for... hundreds of feet. I know we've ran over 300' for some live productions.

So the two options are the female/female couplers ('barrel' if you will - I have also seen these at wally world)

or

Or BNC to RCA

something like the first one is what I can use as well - a female/female coupler but for composite not component

this way i can just attach my two existing composite cables to get the length i need

You really are pushing the limits on RCA though. There's a reason you can't find cables that long - the internal guts don't operate at the proper resistance at length, causing signal loss. If that's OK in this application then go for it. Otherwise you'll want to feed it through a BNC cable.

And the component/RCA jacks are the same. Just colors. If you find a triple adapter like that it'd save you the hassle of 3 pieces.

monoprice is your best bet
get you some with ferrites on them

technically speaking, though, ^ is right.

[Edited on August 6, 2010 at 10:25 PM. Reason : except there's no such thing as a BNC cable ]

blah blah blah, 50 or 75 ohms, otherwise doesn't meet spec

The point is that if you have a cable with 2 BNC connectors on it, the cable in the middle should be right.
