I plan to get an app called Torque for my Android phone. First, I need a good bluetooth OBD connector to communicate with my phone. The guy has a few listed on his site, but the cheapest I can find from his recommendations is $99.

You guys know more... is there one you would recommend?

Shit, meant to post this is Garage Talk... apologies.

Something like this I'm guessing?

Just search for ELM327 Bluetooth, you'll find a bunch of them around 40 to 50 bucks.

^^ on his site he kinda references that as one to perhaps not get. I like the price.... much better. Wonder how it would work...

Probably because those are actually ELM327 clones, it's a PIC microprocessor with software to emulate that chip. Quality of their emulation is rather hit or miss from what I gather.

I've got a ELM327 clone. Works fine on most vehicles, has trouble with a couple of models I've tried newer than 2005. It was $25 shipped. Not bluetooth, just USB.
