Saw it over the weekend and it was a lot better than I expected it to be. Great for a summer comedy.

It has Wahlberg in a funny role; I will be seeing it. 8/9/2010 9:18:53 AM |

Yeah it was on par, and maybe a little better than what I expected. Really glad that the previews didn't give away a lot of the best scenes. A lot of great quotes out of this one.
Wahlberg and Ferrell work well together in this one. And I really enjoyed Michael Keaton as the captain. 8/9/2010 9:38:48 AM |

Agreed, Michael Keaton was pretty hilarious. I was disappointed they didn't fit a "Red Light Special" TLC reference in there. 8/9/2010 9:57:00 AM |

^ Haha, my gf said the exact same thing after the movie.

I thought it was pretty good too, it didn't provide continuous laughter like some of the other Will Farrell movies, but the funny parts were FUNNY.

Best quote imo:

I felt the same way. It didn't bring the constant funny, but when it was funny I was laughing my ass off.
There a few parts of the plot that seemed to be missing. Ex. what the hell was the deal with Marky Mark's girflriend? I know it's a comedy, but at the end of the movie when they were getting married I didn't give a shit at all.
Pretty good comedy film, and Ferrell was back to being hilarious. 8/9/2010 11:06:01 AM |

Yea as a whole there was some clutter in there, but Ferrell held it together, the tuna rant was incredible hahahah 8/9/2010 11:33:34 AM |

QUOTE SPOILER:
My favorite quote was Samuel L at the beginning flying in the car: "You have the right to remain silent...BUT I WANNA HEAR YOU SCREAM!"
That whole 10 minutes in the beginning had me rolling.

It's a quotable movie that we'll laugh about later, even though we were ready for it to be over fairly early. As such, it will be a good background dvd to put on when drunk with friends.
Also, wtf was up with the TARP political statement during the end credits? 8/9/2010 11:04:37 PM |

SPOILER
I thought the funniest parts were during the first 10 minutes, and though it was hilarious the way that Samuel L Jackson and the Rock died, I would have loved for them to be around for most of the movie.

Guys, hands down the best part was the granny going back and forth across the street relaying messages. I laughed so hard I cried. It started out really weird, and progressed to perfection. 8/10/2010 2:51:34 PM |
