I live here now.
Good News: It's nice. Make sure you get stuff in writing if the sales people say that it's offered to you as a resident. We managed to talk the rent down from 1050 to 915 a month but stuff promised like free charcoal for the grills was not followed through upon. The rep that no one liked is gone now though so gg on that I suppose.
The gym is small but gets the job done.
No glass at the pool. They've closed it about 4 or 5 times since it opened in April.
They do resident stuff every now and then. They're having a resident dinner and something at the Cary Ruckus next Tuesday that we may go to.
They're pretty good about answering work orders. The places are fairly new and the maintenance guys don't have much to work about because everything is still working. So they have time to come check stuff out.
BadNews: There was an incident of domestic violence that ended in someone dying a few months ago. However, that is an isolated incident that would have occurred wherever that couple was staying. There have been no outsider caused violent crimes in the complex.
2 weeks ago on Saturday night, a bunch of garages were broken into. There was not a lot of stuff reported stolen, and the complex has to fix a bunch of doors. I don't have a garage so this isn't my concern but some people filed reports with the police to get missing stuff back.
Sometimes the pool guests don't look like they live at the complex, but they could be guests of residents.
The buildings near the stream and retaining wall are settling. There's cracks in our drywall and doors that run perpendicular to the slope. We called in a work order to have some of our doors reset in the frame so that they'll close. They got the job done. Also, it's been long enough that the building has done about 95% of the total settlement.
It's close to the interstate so you can get some noise.
All in all, I've enjoyed living here for the 15 months that I have. We renewed our lease and it will be up next April. From there, I will either renew again or buy a house. I say give it a go. 8/10/2010 9:59:10 PM |
