wtf do you mean I can't bookmark the URL? Why on earth would someone set it up this way, with this Shittoleth system, so that a user can't bookmark a site he/she visits several times a day?

half the time I try to log in I get an authentication error, and then I can't try again without clearing my cashe.

also, I've never been a fan of gmail to begin with - the thread concept throws me off, and I end up sending stuff to people I don't intend to.

I can bookmark a current page, but that doesn't help

I don't think she is a moron but I feel like 80% of internet users know how to use gmail. its really easy and other than this bookmarking non-issue its better than squirrelmail.

the only ncsu email thing I got was an alumnus address, which I had to sign up for (they couldn't go out of their way to do it for me for some reason), and it fuckin forwards to my gmail

and when I reply from it, my gmail address shows up

That's because you're trying to bookmark the login page, not the site itself. It's like on any other number of NCSU pages if you try to bookmark the WRAP authentication screen that comes up--you're not capturing the redirect and so you have bookmarked a page that authenticates you to nothing in particular.

If you can't just add gmail.ncsu.edu as a bookmark without being on the page, would it not work if you waited until *after* the authentication screen and then bookmarked current page on your inbox? Something tells me it would. Can't test it though, being staff I'm still on the old systems (both of them, lol)
