I have coupons that say "Expires on August 11, 2010"
Does that mean they expire august 11, 2010 or does it mean they are expire after august 11, 2010? 8/11/2010 6:17:27 PM |

Here in Cali...them expiration dates don't matter....
Well, sometimes they do but sometimes they don't. I'm not sure what decides that actually... 8/11/2010 6:32:14 PM |

I consider that something that expires on that day as no good on that day.
It least that's what I told my bitch ass customers who had a year to use the coupon but decided to come in on the day it expires to use it.
Even if I'm wrong, fuck them. They would never come back unless it was for a free meal anyway which is practically what that coupon was for.
As the business owner I got to choose whether it was expired or not, but I think that so many places have light policies on expiration dates that consumers don't regard them anymore.
Like if something cost $1.00 and all the customer had was 99 cent, would you still make the sale? The fact that the expiration date is so close to a valid date makes it up to the merchant to decide to be an asshole or a saint. 8/12/2010 2:45:12 PM |

"So many places" understand how to read and comprehend expiration dates.

If something expires, meaning it's no good on this date, it can expire at any time on that date.
I chose 12:00:01AM. Therefore I am the victor. 8/12/2010 4:21:12 PM |

They are labeled that way intentionally. Same goes for things that say Sell by _______. Its just to be ambiguous and give the option to the seller

when i worked in grocery stores, we'd get fussed at if we took expired coupons. usually they won't be accepted when you scan them, but sometimes some will slip through. 8/12/2010 7:11:55 PM |
