Haha... it's from the students' point of view... We just have low self-esteem, but we all knew that already

Nothing to see here people... move along

this list is pure crap.

Harvard is #8? behind the US Military Academy? And the very first U of California school is UC Berkeley at #68? And well known institutions with respected law schools and medical centers like the University of Iowa, Arizona State University, University of Alabama are all in the high 300's, behind tiny no-name private colleges that only have 4-year liberal studies programs, no research and no graduate programs?

i don't care who the idiots are who compiled this list, i want to know who the retards are in US News editorial management who allowed this ridiculous crap go to press.

US News actually had a legitimate ranking of the WORLD'S best universities, published 6 months ago, where NC State is #260 in the entire world. and Harvard is of course #1.

http://www.usnews.com/articles/education/worlds-best-universities/2010/02/25/worlds-best-universities-top-400.html

US News has lost serious credibility with their incessant rankings obviously created to just sell magazines.

After looking at the list this seems about right. I hate these rankings like this. Seems like every single news publication has started doing it 5 times a year. I have no idea what these things are ever based on.

Wasn't there a list of best value educations a few years ago? Didn't we run that shit? I'm not paying $50k bucks to go to some school no one south of the Mason-Dixon has ever heard of

I like it when people see these lists and get mad.

Then they discredit the list. It's like, "hey if you are going to discredit it, then why are umad?"

this forbes list is the ultimate troll

^ not when they use "ratemyprofessor.com" as their data source to rank universities.

anyhow, I thought it was US News, surprised because 6 months ago they put these same institutions much higher on a worldwide scale.

now i see it's Forbes, who are using a screwy sloppy methodology behind their ranking. US News at least published a very transparent and credible methodology behind their system.

i don't know that forbes lacks credibility in other areas, but this ranking is ridiculous and obviously a gimmick.
