I drove an 06 G35 coupe yesterday followed by a 2010 G37 sedan.. I was surprised at the NVH levels. Is it supposed to be like that? I mean I could feel every bump on the road. The highway noise was just unacceptable. I mean why would anyone make a car like that? on the 2010 G37 I could even hear some weird rattle in the cabin. The only good parts were amazing cornering abilities and excellent acceleration..

I would like to hijack this thread to announce this news:

1) G25 is now out, with a 218 hp 2.5 litre V6.

2) G37 IPL Coupe out, with minor bump in hp (348) and loads of aesthetic mods. They should have just gone ahead and made a proper upgrade, like, a G50 coupe/sedan with 420+ hp, instead of a mild makeover.

Too much noise compared to what? There's no doubt NMSJ, but cornering well usually comes with a rather stiff ride. Also, isn't the G37 lighter than the G35 (ASSuming that going from 350z being lighter than the 370z).

wait so you're saying that my car can't ride like a caddy and corner like a lotus at the same time?

Too much noise compared to any regular sedan (Talking about the G37).. I mean, it looks like they made absolutely no effort to dampen out road noise.. and the brakes made a slight scraping type noise when pressed gently and I could feel it in the pedal.. It was practically a new car with about 8000 miles on it..

Only the early (2003-2005) 350Zs were lighter than the 370Z.

A friend had an 05 or 06 G35 and was unimpressed with a G37 loaner from the dealer. He said he felt that the interior had gotten worse.

Yesh, I said that backwards. The 370z is lighter than the 350z, and I was saying if one would follow that logic the G37 should be lighter than G35...

You can feel the road, corners like it's on rails, and you can feel the brakes? I'm going to have to drive one of these!

I've heard the latest versions of the VQ engine should pretty raspy and crappy inside the vehicle.

If you want quiet buy a Lexus or Buick.

If you want performance buy a BMW or Infiniti

If you want reliability buy Acura, Lexus, or Infiniti

I love my Infiniti, haters can suck it. 2007 G35S... never had the slightest mechanical issue with it, handles like a dream, plenty of power, and it's nice to look at.

For some reason I am having the same issues with my 240sx

The car is gutted with a rollbar ....you think that has something to do with it?

My Nissan has no issues other then the fact that it smokes...very minor issues

For H8R: Even I think NMSJ

has anyone bypassed the GPS safety sensor to allow you to play movies and alter the GPS directions while the car is moving? Is it a software/flash drive entered hack or is it actual physical wiring changed?

I had a 07 G35s sedan w/out Nav. I took the dash apart and cut some wires so I could play movies off my ipod though. I'd highly recommend another one. I found that road noise had a lot to do with the tires I went with...Good Year Eagle F1s suck btw. It was a fast car, good interior, and handled great.

I think this nmsj stuff is old and untrue - if anything, bmwmsfj.

My dad also has a M45 that he bought brand new and now has 115k miles on it, he hasn't had ANY issues with it.
