There was one explicit example where this one kid was asking for exams ( and even the final ) for the ACC 200 class and Edward Holland said there had to be someone on his website with those exams since ACC 200 was a popular class, and that the kid shouldn't worry about getting copies.

and now his statement is gone but he left the kid asking for the exams to be caught and punished by NCSU

Getting past exams given by professors is a totally legitimate way to study for your exams given by the same professor. It shows insight into what that professor thinks is important as far as class material, and can help you study more efficiently.

Plus, if a professor is lazy enough to keep giving the same exams over and over, then he needs to be smart enough to keep students from having copies of them.

Handing out old finals is explicitly against university policy. Exams are different though and definitely a legit strategy for studying and for test sheets if allowed by the professor. IDK how it was in 1970 when you guys were at state, but these days you aren't allowed to take finals out of the room at least in any of my ECE classes. You can see them after the semester is over but you can't take them away or make copies or anything

this is how it played out for me

I go to his website, spot this cheating

I go back to TWW and catch up on the thread and see that someone mentions the cheating and that people should report it

I go back to his site and presto, the post were he advocated cheating is gone, but the post where the kid is asking for the test and finals is still there.
