Given the abundance of plant textile alternatives available to us versus "cave men" what would be the justification of wearing fur other than mere greed and barbarism? At least wool is sustainable even if it isn't derived from plants. I am sure there are enough Textile folks around to sort this out.

There's a furrier on Glenwood past Crabtree. My Great-Grandma used to store her stole there. I've been in there once...they are super ridiculously expensive, of course.

I have a coat from the 1940's, but I don't get much chance to wear it. It was nice to have this winter when it kept snowing in Raleigh, though. I wouldn't buy new fur, but I don't feel bad about vintage stuff...I figure it would be silly to just throw it out rather than to wear it.

I mean, I think this is horrible, but I was stating that from a business point of view. Surely an inexpensive and more humane killing method would pay for it self over time, as compared to ying yang having to beat or sling each animal around for a while.

That's not a bad start. How about a pressure sensitive cattle prod that will kill the animal? You're still required to hit the animal, the fur is preserved, and it's a time saving.

I think we can really market this idea in China.
