^^exactly. this site is already pretty much optimized for mobile browsing. my droid x does just fine. I'm not seeing what could be improved.

the only app idea that would be worth it would be something with messaging (PMs), maybe a chat box module (if even possible), then a short version of mytopics (maybe top 10)? but really, it's not that hard to go the site and do all that.

srsly, what android phone do you have that this site doesn't work almost flawlessly on?

only thing I can think of is finding a way to quick mobile upload, but there as so many other ways you can mobile upload i'd never bug anyone to find one here.

It's not that the site doesn't actually work. The problem is that it isn't optimized for mobile browsing. I don't want to have to pinch to zoom ever time I want to read something. It gets annoying after a while. If there were an alternative mobile style sheet, it would make everything work a lot better.

And I have a droid eris so, yeah. Small screen.

I think the only thing that could be done in like a m.thewolfweb.edu would be some kind of automatic photo resizing/thumbnailing above a certain resolution, or disabling embedded things. And idk but i'm pretty sure it wouldn't be worth the effort for the tiny percentage of the user base who would actually need such a thing.


The thing that would be cool however that i think should be on the site anyways is a somewhat small and conservative quick reply bar.

but for real, I came in here to ask if anyone (iPhone users particularly, but maybe on droid or other smart phones as well) get a "Comment Box" error/bug when replying here now. It's something I've noticed only recently with the ios4 updates on the iPhone. The Reply Box basically extends past the "Post Reply!" button disallowing you to see the last portion of text in your reply. Makes for editing rather difficult.

I'll snap a screen shot of my phone next time this happens and post it up if my description isn't clear.

that's interesting. i've been keeping an eye out for standardized forum APIs for a while, but haven't seen any. that might be an option, and could be used as a basis for providing access to third party tools like froshkiller's greasemonkey script


to be clear though, there's a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes with tww right now - mobile options isn't at the top of the list at the moment

just double tap the screen, the text will resize and auto fill the whole screen. If you are pinching and zooming to read websites, then you don't know how to use the android browser(s).
