I, too, get paid once a month and I also find myself fighting to not break out the credit cards the last week of the month. It's actually nice to be able to pay all my bills in effectively one shot, but invariably I end up buying unnecessarily expensive groceries, beer/wine, and eating out frequently in the first half of the month and then get all "WTF where did my money go" in the second half.

I also get paid every 2 weeks. However I don't have it broken down like ^ has to know what each paycheck goes toward. I have a monthly budget that is my monthly income +my wife's monthly income. That total pot gets portioned out into savings, retirement savings, bills, spending, etc. just based on percentages. I just pay the bills as I get em.

I too get paid once a month. Luckily, I have been such a cheap ass in life that I can now spend money on nice things like sushi dinners and friends' tabs at bars and never worry about it. On the other hand, I have been driving the same Jeep since I was 16 (26 now) which is not a baller vehicle in the year twenty-ten. I think it is all about how you budget, but not worrying about cash is definitely one good thing in my life. Unfortunately, the balance for me is not liking my job which affords me my current lifestyle.
