On my 2009 Duramax, I have a 3inch leveling kit. How big of tires can I fit without then scrubbing? I currently have 285s and it appears that I have enough clearance for 315s. All in all I want bigger tires but dont feel like dropping $2500 on a lift kit Thanks for your responses. 8/25/2010 3:11:25 PM |

I suggest posting this on a forum for your truck, which you can find via a google search. I asked pretty much the same question on here for my truck and that's the answer I got. Your local tire store may also be able to help you out. 8/25/2010 5:13:22 PM |

yeah, just go to a duramax or chevy truck forum and they'll have the answer. probably the most common question on forums like that. 8/25/2010 5:48:50 PM |

315s would be the max and you will definitely have rubbing. I'm running 285/65/18 on mine and had minor rubbing on the fender liners until I tied them back. I also had to do minor trimming to the air dam. I only raised the front 2" though. Just know that depending on the type of leveling kit you bought you will loose ride quality. I'm guessing the kit just consists of re-indexed torsion keys? If so, plan on replacing the shocks with ones that have longer travel or at a minimum add some shock extenders. Also, I'd recommend replacing the jounce bumpers since the stockers will no longer be pressed against the lower control arm. Contrary to popular belief the jounce bumpers are not "bump stops" and actually play a vital role in ride quality on an independent front suspension. 8/25/2010 8:03:56 PM |
