I know most cigarettes add plenty of chemicals to enhance plenty of things including nicotine effects. Wouldn't cigarettes without these nicotine enhancements be easier to quit?

For example compare a Newport to any American Spirit blend; is Newport harder to quit than 100% tobacco cigarettes from American Spirit?

I think it depends on what you are addicted to. If you are addicted to the habit of smoking or addicted to the chemicals in the cigarette.

As a former smoker, I was more hooked on the ritual and the habit than the nicotine. I wasn't able to quit smoking by using nicotine replacements. I had to work on the psychological part.

I'm a current smoker of American Spirits Mellow and the only time I get a nicotine buzz is in the morning, the rest of the day I'm not sure why I continue to smoke.

because if you DON'T smoke you'll feel pain

that's why nicotine is the shittiest drug
it has limited pleasurable effects and a nasty withdrawal

I am definitely in the boat of continuing to smoke because of the habit than anything. I quit for a couple of years cold turkey, never looked back. Then I went to France and everyfuckingbody smoked, and i got back into the habit. I will likely not smoke, or think about smoking, until i go out drinking next.

stupid people believe that American Spirits are somehow different or safer or "more healthy" for you than normal cigarettes.

it's due to their successful marketing to such retards that American Spirits command a premium price.

what do you not understand about no additives, no chemicals, 100% tobacco?

no one is saying they are healthy, but they sure as hell can't be as bad as Newports.

Errrrybody know Newprots will kick yo cracka ass.

Somebody needs to come up with a reduced nicotine cigarette...to make transition to not smoking easier for those of us who don't really enjoy smoking all that much, but do it out of sheer addiction.

Having grown up in JoCo, and having worked in a lot of rural counties around here, I can honestly say that finding pot in the country is stupid easy.

Interesting treatment of cigarettes/addiction in "the tipping point" by Gladwell. I was fascinated to read that segment today.

Are you a chipper, or a hardcore addict?

whereas cigarettes make it easier to work/think

I'm afraid I'm a hardcore addict.

I made my problem worse by getting nicotine lozenges too soon.

I started out using them in earnest. But then I started smoking again and didn't give up the lozenges. For example, I'll smoke a quick cigarette before going into a movie, then pop a lozenge once I'm in the theater and suck it down, and then come out and smoke a post-movie cigarette. Same goes for class, when I'm at my non-smoking friends' houses, etc...

So, yeah, pretty much active, continuous nicotine consumption all day every day.

I even go to sleep with a lozenge in.

I can tell you how drugs affected my life. You take drugs, then you come to TWW and make shitty, redundant, threads about drugs. This affects my enjoyment of TWW, and therefore, my life.

you're a giant bag of douche. do you think you're cool for being an addict like its something you had to earn? should people praise you for your pill tower or for your empty "commitment" to quit smoking? should we all wish you the best at the Mayo clinic so you can waste more of your *parents* time and money getting more drugs so you can make more threads about them?

if you really do suffer from chronic pain or whatever that warrants opiates and whatever else you're on I wouldn't be making these comments, but the fact that you brag about them shows that they are for recreational purposes and not helping you. you don't see cancer patients bragging about the drugs their prescriptions do you? if you needed these drugs you wouldn't be making threads about them.

you make me sick.

Well, to be fair, a segment of the population sees what BlackDog uses as "cool." I don't think college aged kids are lining up to go through any sort of chemo for recreation.

[Edited on August 26, 2010 at 4:17 PM. Reason : but you make a decent point about the so called "bragging"]

thanks but they do prescribe opiates to cancer patients in some cases, and in in the states that legalized it, marijuana. but you don't see bald cancer patients that need the pot bragging about how many bongs they have or how many blunts they smoked last night because they take the medicine seriously, as crackdouche does not.

^^ Maybe not specifically bong rips, but I think you're trying prove that you don't brag about being an addict.

If you're not bragging, why make this thread:
http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=599438&page=1#14175466
And ask:

Quote :
"anyone wanna challenge me now! WHAT! WHAT!"

And if you want to count bragging about waking up on the floor after a party because you drank too much while trying not to choke on your own puke, then I guess this is a good example:

http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=598479&page=1

How about this one where you brag about your Fentanyl pain patches:
http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=597306&page=1

How about your self-pity thread?
http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=592146&page=1

How about this thread that best fits your mold of bragging about doing drugs? The title? "Smoking joints at 11 AM," with you going on to say, "one of the pleasures of life."

“A bong rip a day keeps the nicotine addiction away” is what my grandpappy instilled in us as young lads.
