I know most dealers add plenty of chemicals to enhance plenty of things including strychnine effects. Wouldn't drugs without these strychnine enhancements be easier to quit?

For example compare Heroin to any OxyContin blend; is Heroin harder to quit than 100% OxyContin from Purdue Pharma?

Most addictions are incorrectly classified as physical addictions, when in actuality a person simply has a psychological dependence on a certain substance.

Yes, withdrawals from severe abuse of opiates suck, but even if you take them daily at the prescribed amount for years, you should be able to withstand not having them should you suddenly quit, and only suffer some minor withdrawal effects (fatigue, diarrhea, etc.).

If you snort your pills, or take 5-8 at a time, you're gonna have problems. I'd imagine if you can afford to purchase those often enough to become addicted then you can afford the cost of rehab.

With very little personal experience, I'm actually going to go with a confident NO here.

First off, I don't think dealers really add strychnine all that often or all that much to begin with, and if they do, I can't imagine someone getting hooked on the strychnine...like running around, specifically craving some strychnine-adulterated street heroin.

Heroin abusers and OxyContin/pain pill abusers are craving the same thing, and with continued use, they ultimately won't be too picky about what they use to get high. Without intervention, they all usually resort to heroin at one time or another anyway--not cause it's harder to quit or better but because it's cheaper/easier to get.

That said, the addictive potential of the drugs/methods/environments is different, I'm sure. And there are a whole host of (non-physical) factors that can affect someone's ability to quit.

If somebody's hooked on OxyContin, thinking they're better off cause it's purer than heroin...they're dead wrong. In fact, I'd recommend they save their money for rehab and just switch to heroin right now...

I've never been addicted to anything. Guess it depends on one's view whether I'm lucky or missing out.
