Hello I am Daniel Minsk the Google Student Ambassador for NC State. I will be on campus promoting Google Products and answering questions this school year. Not to spam but I do want to reach out to interested students and find out what they would be interested in learning more about when it comes to Google or if they want to provide any general feedback.

i'm guessing you'll be answering mostly gmail questions as a student ambassador? what other kinds of stuff can you help with? if i were a student and trying to figure out, say google adwords, my first thought probably wouldn't be "oh let me go see if the student ambassador can help me." is that the kind of stuff you are making yourself available for?

Yep qntmfred tons of questions about Gmail and password sync issues dealing with our official move to Gmail @ NC State. Also questions on Android, Google Maps Tranist (coming soon to the Triangle we hope) and job information are just a few of the things I have already been asked about. A group of friends and myself are in the process of getting a NC State Google User Group established. A point of intrest Google Engineers will be at the Centennial Campus Welcome Back Bash this Monday from 5-8ish pm under EBII to talk to interested students about Google job opportunities.

I personally have a limited knowledge in Adwords but am willing to try and look up and inquire more about any Google product you might have intrest in. If you have specific questions about Adwords I will attempt to answer them myself or find a more qualified Google Staff Member or intern to help help me do so.

wdprice3: The university is still working through how they want to handle the policy around lifetime accounts and building in the necessary level of granular access to limit what a unity account can do once you are an alum.

Yeah, i signed up for the old alumni site, and now thats dead and I have no idea what my student Id or alumni Id is.

quagmire02 I am assuming you are a permanent NC State Employee. At this time your right that permanent employees still can not have Google Accounts within the NC State Domain. You should be able to instead forward your NCSU email address to your personal Gmail and also enable send as your NCSU address. Not quite officially part of the domain but once setup can work fairly seamlessly. We are still in the early planning stages of trying to place permanent staff on the Google at NC State Apps domain. If you have any questions on how to use your personal Gmail with your NC State email please let me know.
