Probably has a bit to do with the fact that this game was in Primetime in the United States on ESPN and the FIBA World Championships are on at 9am on ESPN3 (aside from the US games) online.

Also, baseball is in the dog days for another few weeks. Only two good series between contending teams during the week and they are both on the West coast.

fifa was on at 9am and EVERYONE in the US watched it. Soccer isn't even that big in the US. FIBA is on, the US is the favorite and theres not even enough demand to have it on tv.

The basketball championships don't even get a proportional amount of care from basketball fans as soccer.
