i think you may feel like you are prolonging the keyless remote's battery by not over-using it

If you don't, it's feasible that your locking mechanism could rust up. At least, that's what happened on my explorer.

The alarm on my car goes off if I try to unlock it with the key instead of the keyless thingie.

I'm pretty sure that's not normal.

I have keyless entry for the first time ever

the Civic was a deathtrap, but I did love its simplicity

If you lock it with the key fob, then unlock it using the key then it should go off. Otherwise, I'm not sure.

old habits die hard?

my old car had a trunk popper, i loved that thing for groceries.

my current one doesn't (it does have the remote lock/unlock), but i still fumble for it out of habit sometimes... occasionally i set of the panic button instead.

i don't know what to think of this.

I thought keyless entry was the norm..... back in 2004.

maybe t-dub is like a third world country where it takes a couple of years for things to hit the market.

Always get the keys in the wrong pockets

Left arm full of stuff, reach down with my right hand only to find keys in left pocket

Have to do the awkward cross pocket reach

Mine too. After my civic got broken into twice off Gorman st I had to get an alarm. Now if i'm within range my key fob goes off if the car alarm goes off.

So of course now anyone can kick my wheel in the morning and it sets off my keys and wakes me up. Good alarm clock.
