in before the stripper jokes. i know we're in chit chat but i have 1 week to plan this thing (found out today)

here is the scoop

my team/district lost the sales contest and now we're in charge of entertainment for about 65 people.

the meeting is in NC the week of sept 13 and everyone from the whole US who does what i do (and beyond plus their managers plus support people in NC) will be there

last time the losing team came up with silly games and each district competed against each other for nominal prizes

my understanding is that we have NO budget which is crap. i might be able to find a couple hundred bucks in our district to put this on but cost needs to be under $400 or so

food & open bar are already provided. need to entertain people for an hour after we've been outside a lot and have been in meetings for about 12 hours a day. this goes down on the 3rd day of that.

has to be done at our facility. we have a huge room, internet access, AV equipment, construction equipment (but honestly we are over playing games with that stuff), tables & chairs that can be moved around easily as well as a large outdoor area that is covered pavilion style

I always enjoyed that game where everybody has a balloon tied to his/her ankle, and then everybody tries to stomp everybody else's balloon without getting theirs stomped

last time we did the games thing and while it was a huge hit... i hate to just do that again. however if i cant come up with anything else i will have to do that again

bingo is an idea... but i dont think this crowd will go for it. we need fast pace. are there any variations on it that could work?

You could always just not do anything and tell them you failed because they hired a failing team to begin with.

what type of games were done last time? maybe if you did DIFFERENT ones, it'd still be cool and fun. if everyone seemed to like games last time maybe just plan a similar thing with different games?

the balloon game sounds funny.

there is this hula hoop finger team game you might have heard of. you have a hula hoop and everyone can be in groups of like 8 - 10 (however many people can fit) and every person puts 2 fingers under the hula hoop and the object of the game is to lower the hula hoop to the floor without anyone's fingers coming off of it. it seems easy but it is hard. one of those "team building" games.

ohhhh what about trivia? you could host trivia. break people into teams and do a few rounds of trivia for a prize. but that, like bingo, might not be active enough.

you could do one of those murder mystery games. where someone is the murderer and everyone mingles and people get killed off and you have to try to solve the murder.

or one of those things where everyone gets a famous person taped to their back and has to try to guess it by asking other people questions about him/herself.

i have a back up plan with all the games picked out and everything

trying to AVOID doing that because i dont want it to be like last time! which was fun i just want it to be different entertainment

ORIGINALLY we were going to try to do a tailgate thing for the state game but that was axed
