So last week I had one of my Seagate HDDs "disappear" in Windows...not after a boot either, just sometime while the computer was running. It doesnt show up in Explorer, Disk Management, or even the BIOS. From what Ive been able to figure out, I THINK my drive is suffering from the BSY state bug.

There are a few guides on how to fix this, and I probably could do it, but I thought Id look here and see if anyone else had any experience fixing this problem. Anyone actually know what they are doing with this (and have the equipment needed already to fix it)? I would be interested in making an arrangement to get this done right. There is nothing that I would call "important" on this drive, but it does have the majority of my State game captures on it...I really like to be able to save these, and I think they are still intact now, I just dont want to lose them in the process of saving them.

seagates come with some of the best warranties in the business - you've had this over 5 years?

I had no idea what this problem was, but this fix-it video was pretty awesome. I laughed several times.
