being poured into a cup of ice. Coke/Pepsi have pretty much modified my brain through decades of pervasive advertising

I don't like the commercials with the sound of someone pouring water out of a Brita filter into a cup with no ice.

It makes me desire urination.

The sounds of a can being cracked open is a lot more evocative in my opinion

Why do you need ice if the drink is already cold

Any of y'all know people who don't refrigerate their soda?

I got family who either take it room temp over ice, watering it down, or they stick cans in the freezer when they want a cold soda later on. But they don't put it in the refrigerator. Two liters live on the counter, and cans stay in the garage.

I take note of people who don't replace the caps tightly on soda bottles. They are not my people.

Advertising is one thing, but pouring carbonated soda over ice kills the carbonation.

For me, mostly because of beer, but I generally agree.

Ew. Refrigerate them. Soda into the cup, then ice [GENTLY!]. Or Diet Coke right out of the can. Shit's delicious.

I can drink most sodas room temperature. Cheerwine is a notable exception. That shit is gross not cold.

My grandmother used to keep 2 liters not in the refrigerator. Now that I think of it, 2 liters started on the counter in our house growing up. But we almost never had soda, only if it was leftover from a birthday party or something.

But yeah I put my shit in the refrigerator, thus ice is pointless. I don't let my drinks sit for hours

Yes, that's why it tastes so bad.
