whats so good about walking around drinking beer in the heat all day only to be robbed when you leave the venue?

$45 is ridiculously expensive

I think $45 is pretty reasonable for the chance to try so many different beers (including some that you can't get locally).

considering the price of admission was half of that just 5 years ago, not really

^ exactly

to really get your money's worth, you'd have to have like one swallow of each beer, and even taking my time i'd be hammered 2 hours in. can't really justify spending the money if i don't even remember the beers i'm drinking

I thought it was a steal 5 years ago.

The good new is that you can vote with your wallet and not buy a ticket. It will still sell out though.

oh i haven't been since the last year it was $25, and don't plan to. really can't understand what caused such a sharp spike in price. i understand costs increasing, but almost a 100% increase is pretty unacceptable. plenty of alkys still pay it i guess

if it still sells out, how can you not understand the growth in ticket price

iirc, it jumped $20 totally out of the blue from one year to the next. usually price gauging happens a little slower than that. doesn't really matter i don't guess

i dont get all the bitching about the price...they could sell tickets for $60 and they'd still sell out.

it's called supply and demand.

i'm not saying people aren't gonna go (obviously), but for me personally, it's an unreasonable price. that's it

there might be a ps sighting at the evening session.

gotta keep the streak alive, even at 1000+ miles away

I went to the durham beer festival back when it cost 25 bucks. It rained really hard that year but it was a lot of fun.

We were supposed to go to an Oktoberfest in Hickory (yeah that's right), but forgot about an early Sunday comittment in Kinston...

But an afternoon session of this could be in order...hmmmm
I've always been busy these weekends, and if prices are going up each time like you guys say this may be the first and last time I'd be able to go (unless I won the lotto and/or received a raise)

Must ponder quickly...

I'm too glad I bought tix a while ago...I have a great excuse to avoid my boss and her super-awkward parties on Saturday. The timing was only too perfect on this one.
