now it is the tiime for the implosion to begin....just like last year, 3-1 seemed everything was going good....then the Ls started.......

Even though VT is not know for throwing the ball......they did today and the secondary was finally exposed. Wilson, although a good QB, when pressured, makes terrible throws and he has been very lucky not to have more interceptions.

I think what killed us was the 3 first 2 picks, the horrible o-line play, the fact that we couldn't stop them on 4th down and more than a few, then third down, and all the other times we tried to pass for 30 or 40 instead of getting reliable 5 or 10 yard plays. It was not a good game for us at all and they played quite well outside the 1st quarter, but the fact that we stayed close gives me confidence.

State did not play good today...VT was definitely the better team today. Our D couldn't stop them when we needed to...seemed like VT converted 3rd downs at will. That being said, I thought there were a few missed holding calls. Still, the refs did not cost us this game.

^0, but it still seems I know many of the rules better than half the officials I see on friday nights. if you're a high school level official, odds are you aren't very good.

For example, I've had a side judge ask me if I was with the team at a random game I was at. I showed him my media badge. He then told me I can't stand outside the 25 yardline. For those who do not know, media personale technically cannot stand inside the 25 yardline although some teams/refs will allow it and not really care.

I'm not back peddling, I stand by my original statement. It's absolute bullshit that VT never got called for holding, and these refs were subpar. (although not the reason we lost, anyone who thinks i ever implied that is jumping to conclusions, if you look in the trash bin you'll see that ncsuftw thinks my thread about the OL sucking being the reason we lost isn't good enough for sports talk)

the refs allowed a very physical game. we have to learn to adjust to the refs if they are gonna allow more roughing than normal. vtech was all over our WR's. this happened 2 years ago on thurs night against FSU

they were letting people hold all day. both teams.
