have a main commuter for work, but id like to do some extra work, tune-ups and other DIY stuff, but some jobs might take more than a few days, so I'd like to get a "beater" car as a backup. wanted to do this for awhile anyways, just for emergencies. a truck or suv is preferred for a second automobile, so i can have something to haul or transport alot, but i might say yes to a car if the price/model is nice. Flame away at my next comment, but im aiming for something $1500 or less.
lemme know what you got t-dub! 10/7/2010 9:48:50 PM |

If I had more money socked away for a new (to me) car, I'd sell you mine. It's got lots of fun problems (no heat, A/C, or working front windows). Engine is fine, thank goodness, it's just uncomfortable to drive in the summer and winter. 1994 Buick Regal gransport, if you can stand to wait a couple months. 10/7/2010 11:28:57 PM |

I have a 2000 chevy prism and it is all types of "beat" up. 175,000 miles. All of the windows work with some patience and tweaking. It has some body damage on the front and side panels. The interior is wrecked pretty bad. The previous owner was a smoker and had 4 dogs that chewed away at the cloth seats. It burns oil pretty bad and thus needs about a quart every time you go through a tank of gas. It passed inspection though which is good through feb or march i can't remember. The driver side handle is broken off but still "openable" with the right touch. I put all new tires on it about a year ago and they are in decent condition. I put a sony cd player in it. There is no interior handle on the rear driver-side door. I would take $1000. 10/8/2010 11:17:19 PM |

1997 Volvo 850 T-5 WAGON (lots of power) Every option, high miles, but doesn't burn oil, and motor/trans is perfect. Paid 2k for it, used to travel across the US this summer and willing to sell for $1700 A/C comes on and off, and sunroof wont open anymore. Thats the only mechanical problems. Literally drove 12hrs down to miami and back, twice non-stop so this is a reliable tank.
