Who are they? What kind of influence did they exert (i.e habitual characteristics, avoidance of or engagement in certain behaviors, etc.)?

Family, high school band director, high school tennis coach, hockey coach, Dr. Pond of COM 110

My grandmother.

She's a strong, outspoken, somewhat stereotypical southern matriarch. I admire her and look to her for advice (like most people). She's 90 years old and spent most of her life teaching high school and running the family farm. She is just bad ass.

Bob Hope. Abraham Lincoln definitely. Bono... and probably God would be the fourth one. And I just think, all those people helped, the world in so many ways that it's really beyond words.

Myself.

Seriously, anyone who knows me I'm much more self-centered than most but beyond that, my decisions, actions and in-actions have affected me more than any one individual.

Richard Gere's a real hero of mine. Sting. Sting would be another person who's a hero. The music he's created over the years, I don't really listen to it, but the fact that he's making it, I respect that.

In 1995 a woman named Susan Smith pushed her car into a lake. She drowned her two sons in the process. Then she blamed it on a black guy.

It didn't take long to find it she'd killed them and tried to use racism to pin it on an imaginary dude.

As the months went on I remember asking my parents, "One group likes to execute people, right? Which group is that?"

Mom said, "The Republicans."

Several things happened that day. One, I swore I'd vote Republican until I died. Two, I would do everything in my power to make sure that racist assholes went to the same fate I hoped for Susan Smith.

Incidentally, she got a prison term and I own a gun.

My personality -- wolfweb and otherwise -- is built on this one woman's actions. At the very least I don't think highly of our species.

Several people

I've had a lot of people come in my life for a short time and it's like I know they're only there to teach me something and then I can never get a hold of them again. Like my guidance counselor in school, she was seriously a guardian angel, and my math teacher in elementary school, my mom's friend.

Then people I know everyday? My bf, my dad, my sister, my grandmother on my mom's side.

my parents and both of my grandmothers for sure have been the most influential.

especially my mom, obviously. especially this time of year i think about it when i'm like man, i never thought i learned a lot from her but even just watching her and my grandmother in the kitchen when i grew up i learned SO much. i don't know the recipes (exact) for a lot of things i want to make at the holidays, but i remember watching them make it and can usually figure it out on my own. just cause i'd seriously sit there on a stool and watch (and try to do other things like eat raw pie crust and sneak spoonfuls of yummy things).

and in other ways than cooking, obviously. but i was just thinking about that today since its thanksgiving time and all.

i also definitely got my stubborn, bossy attitude and temper from my mom. but i'm also very organized (in school and work, not so much with my clothes) because of her. manners definitely from my mom and my grandmothers (i did all the southern ish...cotillion, etc). i think i'm also so anxious/stressed because she was kinda high strung. whoopsy!!! haha.

Other than probably my dad I would say myself. I tend to learn most of my life lessons the hard way by doing them myself rather than from other people. Ive managed to shape my own life based on all my previous actions or lack thereof. In the end Im pretty happy with myself and think I'm a pretty awesome person. I in turn hope to influence other peoples lives that I meet even if just slightly and even though I don't meet a whole lot of people.
