I have a 4 day weekend coming up and would like to go somewhere fall-ish in North Carolina with the boyfriend ... any suggestions of things/towns/attractions that are no more than 4 hours away

Plane to Vermont or New Hampshire... go to any small town and it's fall to the fullest.

But in NC? Anywhere in the mountains.

I like how Ernie pays for premium yet doesn't change his status name

Also, Blowing Rock

I like how the entire song is pretty much the chorus.

Banner Elk, Boone, Blowing Rock, or this awesome little bed and breakfast in Bryson City, the Charleston Inn

you wont be disappointed with any of these

Banner Elk could probably keep you wanting more after several days without being the typical getaway...beaaaautiful country out there

The plant called and said if you don't come in tomorrow, don't bother coming in Monday.

I vote go to Asheville:

1 or 2 days of hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway

tour the Biltmore Estate

take a brewery tour (or the multiple brewery Brews Cruise)

go to a concert at one of the many local venues

eat dinner at several of the many fantastic restaurants in the area - I recommend Zambra, Laughing Seed, Chorizo, Early Girl (best breakfast), Ophelia's

you really need to stay in a hotel downtown
if the Renaissance, Haywood Park, or Indigo are too expensive (and they are, for me) there is a hostel called Sweet Pea's with 2 private rooms that run $60 each

I second Asheville

I'm not sure if I'd ever want to live there but for a weekend vacation, it's awesome

just feels like one of those cities that's better suited as a vacation spot for some reason

but then again, I live in Fayetteville so I have no room to talk (number of circumstances kept me here, it wasn't exactly my first choice, if you were wondering)

Definitely Asheville. My wife and I just went up there for our 1 year anniversary (we had to plan something relatively short and on short notice because of her work schedule atm) and, as always, it was a lot of fun. Lots of good places to drink, the downtown area is just fun to walk around in, good restaurants etc.

We love going up there. Plus my sister lives there so we could drop off the dog

If you like Sushi, Wasabi on Broadway is a really good little sushi joint. Plenty of good bars but as far as good beers, my two favorite are the Thirsty Monk and the Bier Garden. There is also easy access to lots of good hiking and great views along the Blue Ridge Parkway within very close distance to Asheville.

There is a nice little trail off the parkway just 15 mins from the downtown if you are interested. Just take Town Mountain Road from College Rd/Tunnel road leaving downtown. When it T's into the parkway there is a parking lot on the left with stairs leading to a trail.

If you want to stay really close to downtown but not directly in it, there are a lot of good bed and breakfasts in that area. Check out: http://hillhousebb.com/

Ok, who wants to come over tonight and snuggle while watching one of any movie of your choosing,,,

I have every movie that has come out in 3d....plus a million other great flicks

I seriously won't rape you or anything...just looking for someone to come hang out and watch some tv/movies with me

Seriously, I just want a warm body (with a vagina in it) to hang out with tonight,,,,no pressure for sex or anything. Just no obligation snuggling.

,no harm in that.,,,,come on ladies!

I think I'm going to try and do an Asheville weekend get away in January on MLK weekend. I love Charleston, but I need some mountain weather at least once a year.

How about a good three day trip over New Years Eve. Driving distance 6 hours or less?
