I've always thought if you failed a class with a D (within the C wall) or an F that it was permanently on your major and cumulative gpa.... but I've never personally had to worry too much about it.. If you were to retake a class you made an F in previously, then scored an A the second time around, do both grades go against your GPA? Or just the higher of the two?
The only thing I could find was that it does work like this if you retake a course you previously made a C in or better..... but never could find anything about making less then that... kinda curious 10/23/2010 1:36:50 PM |

It depends on whether the course qualifies for the First Year Course Repeat policy. See Course Repeat Regulation REG 02.20.6
If no ...
1.1. Students who repeat a course, regardless if the grade previously made, will have both grades counted in their cumulative grade point average.
If yes ...
2.1. The first-year course repeat policy is a policy of forgiveness that helps new NCSU undergraduate students maintain good academic standing.
2.2.2. The course title and grade for the first completion will be shown on the official record with a code (R) to indicate that it was repeated and that the first grade was removed from the computation of the cumulative grade point average. 10/23/2010 1:54:23 PM |

lol, well it just made me wonder how it works....
I was reading a thread on reddit where a kid said he took his Diff. Eq. class at his Uni. 7 times until he made a passing grade and that his highest grade reflected on his GPA... Which is pretty ridiculous... 10/23/2010 2:55:34 PM |
