I had this for dinner night before last.

It was win.

Campbells canned tomato bisque was WAAAAAAAY tastier than I thought. Doesn't even need the grilled cheese

Ingredients:

cheese flavor

I'll be making some grilled cheeses soon. Anyone else put mayonnaise on theirs?

It's not so much disliking...it's more that grilled chese is the only reason to ever consume kraft singles.

^ yes. i'll give you that.

when i do a simple grilled cheese though, i will use cheddar slices. MAYBE american deli slices. never kraft singles, but i'll allow those in grilled cheese

i also like some grainy wheat bread. of couse, this is what my childhood grilled cheeses were made on because we didn't eat white bread so for me that isn't snobbish either

but you can definitely spice up the original childhood meal and it is still yummy. and not snobbish (ie mozz and pumpernickel, yummm)

i used canned campbell's tomato soup - pretty sure that is the least snobbish thing ever

and for some reason campbell's condensed tomato is way better than other canned tomato soups. why?? i tried to branch out, i did, but i just <3 campbell's (this is the only soup of theirs i eat, unless i'm cooking then i might use a french onion or cream of mushroom). usually if i go canned i go progresso but...their tomato is too fancy for me!

I've had that before and it's great!

Does anyone do rice with stewed tomatoes over the rice? My grandmother is from SC and we've always had our rice this way, but I've never found anyone else who does it.

I love this site, lots of great ideas: http://grilledcheeseacademy.com/

But I also love a couple of slices of kraft singles in between two slices of meritta white bread.

Again, TWW, you influence my decisions.

I am eating cooked diced tomatoes with toast.

No tomato soup. No cheese. So I improvised.

making your own soup is so easy ... just roughly chop carrots, onions, and celery. drop it in a pot of water with a can of crushed tomatoes. bring to a boil and then simmer for 45 min or so. Then blend! it's delicious. you can add any spices or other stuff that you want. If you have an immersion blender it's even easier.

So, khcadwal loves grilled cheese made with kraft singles or other american cheese, right?

I'm pretty sure that's what she's saying.

peppers and onions cooked in butter, with colby-jack

green apples and bacon cooked in bacon fat, with extra sharp cheddar

Also, grilled pimento cheese sandwiches... (with optional shrimp or crab meat)
