After an eastpak store we used to go to went away I think http://theglobetrotter.com/ had eastpak backpacks in the back of their store, but I think that was strictly seasonal (i.e. school year based).
I know target carries halfway decent eddie bauer backpacks. Worked for me when the straps on my old eastpak finally tore to bits. 10/25/2010 11:30:50 PM |

I need to send in my LL Bean bag to get the zipper fixed, or have them give me a new one, whichever they choose to do. 10/25/2010 11:31:00 PM |

I think you should just go to REI and pay the piper. If you actually keep them that long a nice pack is well worth the money amortized over a decade or so.

I have a LL.Bean and a Lowepro for the camera/laptop combo.
Both are extremely good at what they do. My LL bean is the one that converts to a single shoulder deal and expands in depth to pack more crap - perfect fill in for a few extra clothes when I don't want to step up to luggage. 10/25/2010 11:39:52 PM |

I dunno what it is, but I love my back pack. I've had it for ~9 years as well. It's a bit beat up, but I think I'd pay to have it fixed if it werent too expensive.
we need a 'post your backpack' thread
I would start it, but I dont have my camera on me...and heat transfer needs getting done Maybe tomorrow if I remember.

I paid $80 for a High Sierra bag back before I started at NCSU in 2003. Its been across the country 3 times and around the world (literally) once. I still use it 2-3 times a week and its still in great shape. 10/26/2010 3:09:00 AM |
