He did not have a collar or a microchip. When he comes home the first thing I will do is to get both.

He doesn't have any major distinguishing marks, but he does have kind of a blemish/bald spot on the bridge of his nose right now, so if you can actually get close enough to him to see his face you should be able to tell.

yeah and local vets... I work at Morrisville Cat hospital, and there are a lot of rescue cats and strays that are brought in. You could look them up/call them and get them a picture/description and they will let you know if anything comes in. Also, I would do that for all the local vets/shelters

We have an animal trap now. While I was driving in from picking it up, I saw a Cary Police Animal Control Truck pulling away from some corporate buildings off NC 54 near our neighborhood. Hopefully they picked him up. About to head out and check in a few (giving the truck time to get to the animal shelter).

I just saw a black cat with no tags in the 1000 block of Slater Rd (between Page and Emperor). It wasn't what I would call a large cat, but it wasn't skinny like some strays. It just looked average. For reference, my cat is about 12 pounds and it looked the same or a little smaller. I couldn't get close enough to see its nose. It crossed a parking lot and disappeared into the bushes.

I did just see a solid black cat out in the parking lot here at work just before I went to pick up some food about 30 minutes ago. I'm in RTP near Davis Drive @ NC54, so I doubt it was your cat.

Thanks for keeping an eye out everyone. We appreciate it. I'm surprised there is not a lot of trolling going on.

Just set up a trap outside and put some wet food in it since it is pungent and will attract...something. Hopefully we'll catch Gus and not a cat like in the picture of the found cat ad above.

I have pretty much been a basket case since I found out he was missing Sunday evening. Aaron was a little more relaxed because he's had an indoor-only cat get lost before and she came home after about two weeks. I was really worried about Gus because sometimes he lacks the normal cat instincts. Also he is really scared of big, loud things, and of course there's been a ton of yard work and stuff going on outside since he got out.
