Does it work on WPA/WEP authenticated networks if you know the pw?

I know the thread title sucked, but there is a thread for this already:message_topic.aspx?topic=603854[Edited on November 4, 2010 at 3:28 PM. Reason : .]

And we might as well just answer the question.Yes.

It only seems to be capturing my activity

Oh--well that's because it's encrypted traffic and you don't have the encryption keys for the other connected clients. Sorry, I didn't fully answer your question. It is possible really easy to crack the WEP encryption on the fly then intercept packets, and WPA (WPA2 is stronger) can be cracked after a long or short period of brute force attacks. It's not as easy or straight forward as an Open network, which could be likened to taking candy from a baby.

I meant on my home wireless network (WPA). I was just testing it and we can't get my roommates activity, just my own

^It's probably because you don't have a wireless card that can operate in promiscuous mode

you need a sluttier wireless card!

This is basically wireshark for code kiddies, right?

Not really, it is session hijacking...

^^basically, I mean WireShark does offer to install WinPcap, the external program required for Firesheep to work
