there was an update or something that ruined several of my games

then we all restarted Steam and now we're all getting "Engine error" and "Could not load library client"

I guess I'll have to do some real work then

First try:

1. Load Steam
2. From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
4. Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
5. Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.
6. Launch LFD2.
7. Still no workie?

Then try:

Delete local content, re-download.

Fixed?

I'm playing right now. I did the game cache fix!
