Also,
I thought it was "Daylight Savings Time", but the Internets say it's "Daylight Saving Time"...

Not that it matters cause I'll be long asleep, but in NC they quit selling booze at 2 AM, right? So if the clocks go from 1:59:59 AM to 1:00:00 AM, will they still sell booze for that extra hour?

I've experienced more bars that don't observe this loophole than bars that do.

I can't believe I've never pondered this question until now

the bars stay open, or at least mine does. Although I'd rather go home than work an extra hour

"Apple iPhone expected to cause Daylight Saving Time issues

News by Michelle Ruhfass on Saturday November 06, 2010.

Apple has issued a warning to its smartphone users saying that the iPhone's operating system has a glitch and will not recognize Daylight Saving Time.

According to Apple spokeswoman Natalie Harrison, speaking to CNN, "We suggest customers set nonrepeating alarms for now and reset after November 7 to resolve the issue". Seemingly, the iPhone's built-in alarm will not recognize the new time change, which falls back one hour, at 2am Sunday in the United States.

Apple is expected to resolve the issue later this month with a software. Some may think this is a great excuse for being late to work on Monday morning, though, and use it to their advantage.

More information is available from Apple."

yep. I could have closed at the first 2:00 but I decided to keep it open for the handful of regulars that were still hangin out. Not sure of ALE's stance on this but it's pretty much just up to the bar/bartender.

time change is officially at midnight this year, ie after 11:59 changes, it becomes 11:00...so everyone can drink for an extra hour

though i never heard of bars closing early when the time change was at 2am

Yea! Can't wait for it to get dark at 5:00pm. Nothing quite like getting off work and it's already dark, perfect for my exercise plans.
