long term relationship...

Do you ever think you might want to get married again?

when I get sick from eating oysters I say I'll never eat them raw again
but I always do it anyway

I guess what I'm trying to say is don't let that rare bad oyster and night of shitting and puking all over ruin the rest of your life

^^^

by all means if you don't find the person worth marrying then don't force yourself into something early, but sometimes you just find that person that isn't worth letting go of. Can't control when that happens

I would use a divorce to get with a much younger wife.

My dad said that after his second divorce, but he got married again about 7 years later (to a very sweet lady, might I add).

To his credit, his second wife was one of the biggest cunts I've ever met. I would probably swear off marriage if I had to be married to her for 5+ years as well.

I also agree with this:

Quote :
"it should be illegal to be married before you're like, 30"

Quote :
"but sometimes you just find that person that isn't worth letting go of. Can't control when that happens "

Then don't let them go. Why do you need a marriage certificate to "not let go"???

/shrug. We were together for several years before we got married. If you know you're planning to spend the rest of your life with someone, it makes sense to me the way our government is set up to get married.

yea that definitely helps. I mean, for us as a couple, we didn't need any certificate to tell us that we wanted to stay together, but the ceremonial aspect of making the commitment was enjoyable to share with friends and family. We kept the rings and the ceremony on the cheap side and went on a great honeymoon. It was kind of nice to physically make that sort of commitment after being together for several years, even though we already knew we wanted to be together.

Hard to explain. We would be just as happy with each other right now if we weren't officially married but there are benefits (taxes being one of them) and the ceremonial aspect was fulfilling.

After my Mom and Dad divorce, they both told me to never get married. My mom is now remarried and my dad is engaged.

After my parents divorced, my mom went on a few dates then started seeing my now-stepdad... They have been together for over 10 years now and are happily married

My dad, on the other hand, married the same evil bitch... TWICE. Literally. They got married, then got a divorce. Then got married AGAIN, then got divorced again. I am happy to report he's now dating a woman who isn't a succubus

Lol at getting married for tax benefits. That money you save will be exponentially lost when you get divorced and lose half your shit.

I laugh out loud at people that give tax benefits as a reason to get married.

Also, it's cheap and dishonest to marry-up and steal half the earnings that someone else earned on their own.

Marriage has lost all meaning once you bring money into the picture.

^^ Then explain the purpose of arranged marriages

Money/wealth/prosperity has long been a reason for people to get married

People do things for the wrong reasons all the time. They are incapable of using logic correctly and/or use logic for corruption.

In the middle ages, getting married for LOVE was a bit of a novelty. And in many countries, this is still the case.

Some people think that if you get married and it's not for love, then it's not for the right reason. But you need more than love to make it work.

I don't get how this happens. Anyone who knows me knows I will stay in a relationship well past its expiration date, but I have never even remotely considered marrying a woman I wasn't madly in love with.

Both me and my GF got out of very long-term relationships right before we started dating. We are both also divorced, although her marriage lasted quite a bit longer than mine. In our situation, we both know we are going to get married, but we aren't in any rush.

I think if people marry without being in love then they are a fraud, but if people marry only because of love, then they are idiots.

"According to investigators, Williams--who lives four doors down from her estranged husband at the 77 Motor Inn--showed up at his door and asked Danny Williams and another man to “eat my pussy.” At this point, Williams, pictured in the mug shot at right, “commenced to undress herself,” reported Deputy Ross Mellinger.

While Danny Williams “declined said invitation,” the other man, Adam Watson, told cops that he “agreed to perform at her request.” However, as Watson approached Williams, “he became overwhelmed by horrible vaginal odor emitting from Melissa Williams.” Watson, understandably, “declined to proceed any further.”"

Ok. Then we change it to If you are divorced, and none of that having been in a life changing long term relationship. Most relationships are life changing to some degree, methinks.

i understand why it was phrased as it was in the topic, just that people take "life changing" as "i became single, thus my life changed".
