last time i sat in their student section (TA was in!) no one gave me any shit whatsoever. also, they all sat the entire game except for the very end.

The first away game I ever went to was at UNC, and I sat in the student section. It was 2002, and my friend got me a student ticket. I told him I would wear a blue or white shirt as to not stand out, which I did. But as soon as we got situated, I pulled it off to reveal my Red NCSU tshirt. We started to come back after halftime, and started to blow them out of the water. I happened to be sitting to some other NCSU fans who started talking crap. Ultimately, we were asked to leave (I was lumped in) as UNC fans were throwing stuff and starting crap with other NCSU fans in the student section. Well, they didn't tell me I had to leave- they gave me the option to go to the other side of the stadium where the visitor section was, but with virtually no real time left, I opted to leave.
