Right now we are taking up some of our floors and there are a couple of hallways with tile on a cement slab.

The tile isn't that bad; it is the grout that is a pain in the arse to get off.

i've done this before and i found it fun like those home improvement shows....for about 5 minutes.

damnit, everywhere else in the house the tile is on laminate or wood backing. Only the tile we are trying to take up is directly on the slab

I did this on a 300sqft kitchen. I ended up using a hammer drill that has a hammer only option with a chisel bit to chip off all the thinset. Took me several days over the course of a week or two.
